Rocketman Takes Flight

Good day my friends, how have you been? Myself I have been enjoying a nice week of relaxing and to be honest trying to find myself again. What's that you ask? You have been writing reviews and you just finished the 7th chapter of the online story blog you are currently writing, how have you been finding yourself? Well, sometimes you need to take a step back, take a break and even when you still can't find yourself, your doubts are crushing you, just do some of the things that helped build you. You may not see it right away, that you are lost!.. But, all it takes is a brief moment of clarity, it can come from anything, the story of another person, a song etc. But when it does hit, you realize that the stupid things you that have been weighing you down are just that, stupid things!.. That is when a weight lifts and you know that you need to break free and let go of that stuff. That the things that we tried to make happen but never materialized were just learning lessons, signs telling us to let go and move on. Sorry, I just needed to get that out!.. You came here for a movie review, not a study on ones self. But that being said it is kind of fitting that I wrote that!.. Because this evening I went to see the musical biopic about Elton John called Rocketman which was well... just wait for my review because I am not going to ruin it by revealing my thoughts early. But you do know that my opening thoughts always tie in with my review in some way, shape, or form. This movie stars Taron Egerton(Kingmen: The Secret Service) as Elton John, Jamie Bell(Billy Elliot) as Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden(Game Of Thrones) as John Reid and Bryce Dallas Howard(Jurassic World) as Sheila. So let's listen to the life story of Elton John and see if it's another hit!

As a young boy before he became Elton John, young Reggie didn't have the greatest home life, his mother was very cold and his father was pretty much the same. But he did have his grandmother who loved and encouraged him, especially when they found out that Reggie had a natural talent for playing the piano. He studied night and day and even earned a scholarship to the Royal Academy Of Music. When his parents separated and his mother Sheila(Howard)ooh a new husband young Reggie discovered that he loved rock and roll and wanted nothing more then to be a famous rock musician one day. On tour playing with other singers is where he discovered that he needed to change things to make his dreams come true. The first and most important is that this where he changed his name to the one we all know...Elton John(Egerton). Next he went out to try and get work at a record company and it is there that he was first introduced to songwriter and lifelong friend Bernie Taupin(Bell). During his time of trying to make a name for himself Elton came to the realization that he is gay.Elton's knack for putting the melody to Bernie's lyric's eventually led him to getting a record deal and a tour in Los Angeles. It was here in a club in LA that he really made a name for himself and also met John Reid(Madden) a man who would become his manager and lover, but never really loved Elton the way he had always wanted which would become one of the reasons for his addictions. Elton would become one of the best selling artists of all time, achieving huge fame and fortune. But life seemed so empty for him filling it with sex, drugs and booze. Not even knowing what day it was and just feeling burnt out. He even would try and take his own life through overdosing on drugs and alcohol. Then one day he realized that it was all out of control and said no more and went and got help and finding that he didn't need the booze, drugs and sex to be him, that he always had it in him to be the good musician and that he was loved.

There you have it the synopsis my friends, now I am not going to ask you what you thought because frankly that is a stupid question, because you really can't answer back!Lol! But let me tell you that this was a fantastic movie with such an intriguing story, well written script and well directed. The performances in this movie were also great! Taron Egerton put in a fantastic performance as Sir Elton that was both sweet and moving. I love how this movie told the story of Elton's life through him talking about it in rehab and the musical numbers of elton's songs also adding that little something extra to help tell certain key points in his life. From begin ing to end this was a super movie, with a great story about one of the worlds greatest singer musicians. It kept you interested and also singing along to some of the great songs that we know and love from Elton's hit list. Tat being said I am giving this movie a 7.9 on The Justin Scale Of Movies shaking the ground and giving it a spot on my Pick-It List of movies to see at the theatre. And that is a wrap my friends on my latest movie review, but until next time remember to save me a good seat and to keep that popcorn freshly popped because eI will be seeing you again at the movies.
