Fighting With My Family A Body-Slamming Good Time!

Good day my friends! Hope you have all been doing good! Sorry for the interruption in my weekly movie reviews. There were some things I had to do and, I needed a little break from my reviews for a bit as I felt a little burnt out and worn down. Sometimes it is good to take a break from things when we feel burnt out and that our world isn’t going as smooth as we had hoped. The important thing though is that we get right back to work and not quit on ourselves when things go sideways. That is the most important thing we all must remember when chasing down a dream, that no matter how hard things get, how much disappointment there is, setbacks, that we don’t give up on ourselves and just push ourselves to keep going with quiet determination. And if our belief in our self is strong enough, then we can accomplish anything! The movie we are looking at this week is a true story about chasing a dream. That movie is the sport/biographical/comedy/drama called Fighting With My Family. This movie stars Dwayne Johnson (Fate Of The Furious) as himself, Lena Headey (Game Of Thrones) as Julia Knight, Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) as Ricky Knight, Jack Lowden (Dunkirk) as Zak Knight, Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers) as Hutch and Florence Pugh (The Commuter) as Saraya Knight. So, let's see if this movie can get a successful in the ring and get the victorious three count.

In England, the Knight Family has always had a love for wrestling, Ricky (Frost) and his wife Julia (Headey) used it to overcome some of their own personal demons. They even started a wrestling company of their own to put on shows in their hometown of Norwich, England. Their love of wrestling was instilled into their children Zak (Lowden) and Saraya (Pugh) both who were trained by their parents and performed for the family wrestling company WAW. Bot Zak and Saraya have big dreams of being in the WWE and win the championship. Having sent in tapes of their ring performances to WWE talent scout and head of the training program Hutch Morgan (Vaughn) they anxiously wait and hope for a chance to try out for the WWE. While they wait, they continue to do what they always do and that is train local kids to wrestle to keep them off the street. Than one night at a family dinner where Zak’s family was meeting his girlfriend’s parents they hear back from the WWE for a tryout in London. Zak and Saraya go to London excited and nervous about their opportunity to get a chance to fulfill a lifelong dream and even meet The Rock. After the tryouts Hutch reveals that the WWE only wants Saraya to come to Miami for training as a potential WWE wrestler. Refusing to go without her brother and about to give up on her dream, Zak convinces her to go and pass up this great opportunity, that he will be alright. Saraya goes and finds it is a lot harder than she had imagined, finding it hard to make friends with the other female talent even trying to change who she is. Back home Zak is having problems dealing with the fact that he will never get his dream, not thinking of all that he does have, harboring resentment to his sister. During a break back home for Christmas Saraya informs her family that she is not going back which shocks them but none more than the realization that Zak is having a hard time dealing with the rejection still. After a discussion with her brother Zak, Saraya does go back and works hard to impress the WWE so much that they give her the shot she had always dreamed of since she was a little girl.

Now how does that sound? Yeah, I know I ask that question a million times and it’s always the same thing, lol! Well, I will tell you what I thought of this movie than! This movie had a nice mix of heart, humor and drama. For a sports biography it was well done. The story was good with a strong script to go along with some good performances. I enjoyed the nice light-hearted humor that was mixed in the dialogue. The chemistry the cast had was evident by the good performances they put in. I also loved the heart in this movie that could make anyone who has had a dream and was ready to give up on it relate. In the end this movie made you smile and entertained you while telling the real-life story retired WWE wrestler Paige. Thoroughly enjoying this movie, I am giving it a 7.3 on The Justin Scale Of Movies and putting it on my Pick-It List of movies to see in the theatre! SO, that is a wrap on this first movie review of march and my first one in 3 weeks! As always remember to save me a good seat and to keep that popcorn freshly popped, because I will be seeing you at the movies!
