Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald Casts It's Spell

Good day my friends! You know sometimes it is awfully hard to come up with a good introduction to these reviews that I do. There are times I have it all planned out perfectly what I have to say and the review just comes together with total ease. Than there are times that I have no idea on what to say and just sit here staring at a blank computer screen. You know though that sometimes when that happens the review actually turns out pretty decent or it turns out to be the latter which is total shit!!!! That my friends is the curse of the writer! Yes, us writers can have a million ideas floating around in our head that it can actually keep us up at night because our brain won't shut off to let us get some sleep. Or the thing that every writer hates can happen and that is our mortal enemy known as writers block! That sneaky prick can really mess shit up and frustrate us all as we sit there not knowing what to write and completely void of ideas. But in the end the block ends and we have a breakthrough that turns out some great ideas. All writers go through this including the one that wrote the movie I am reviewing this week. That writer being author and screenwriter J.K. Rowling the author of the Harry Potter books. The movie we are looking at is Fantastic Beasts:The Crimes Of Grindelwald the sequel to the movie the hit Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. The movie stars Eddie Redmayne( The Theory Of Everything) as Newt Scamander, Catherine Waterston(Steve Jobs) as Tina Goldstein, Dan Fogler(Fanboys) as Jacob Kowalski, Zoe' Kravitz(X-Men: First Class) as Leta Lestrange, Johhny Depp( Black Mass) as Grindelwald, Ezra Miller(Justice League) as Credence Barebone and Jude Law(Sherlock Holmes) as Albus Dumbledore. Let's go back to the wizarding world to see if this sequel can conjure up the same magic as the first one.

Grindelwald(Depp) has been kept in New York ever since he was captured. But now he is being transported back to London to answer for his crimes back in Europe. The devious wizard manages to escape custody and escape to Paris to continue his plans of raising pure blood wizards to rule over all non magical beings. Back in London a few months after Grindelwalds escape Newt Scamander(Redmayne) is about to go before the Ministry Of Magic to get his travel privileges restored. To do so he must work for his brother at the ministry to help find the thought dead Credence (Miller) who survived the obscurus and is in Paris to find out his true parentage and to kill him before Grindelwald finds him to become part of his plan. To make matters more complicated is that Newt's former classmate and childhood love Leta Lestrange is set to marry Newt's brother and is also working for the ministry. He refuses and does not get his travel privileges restored but is recruited by his former professor Albus Dumbledore(Law) to help stop Grindelwald and find Credence. He is reunited with muggle Jacob Kowalski(Fogler) his girlfriend Queenie Goldstein and her sister Tina(Waterston) as they encounter new creatures, find out past secrets and try to stop Grindelwald from accomplishing his goal.

There you have the synopsis my friends! So...... What do I have your interest peaked? Still on the fence hey? Well Let's take a further look into the movie to help you make that decision! Now if I would have to say in a nutshell what I thought of this movie I would have to say that it was pretty good! Not quite as good as the first one which I thoroughly enjoyed. But still worth the price of admission with a nice plot twist at the end that will surprise you. The script was smart with a nice dose of action, humour and heart. The characters were well developed going you little bits and pieces of info on them that we didn't know on them. My only take away would be that there were some scenes that lagged a bit but other than that it flowed well and had some great performances by the actors. All in all  decent follow up and it gets a 7.1 on The Justin Scale Of Movies earning it a spot on the Pick-It List of movies to see in the theatre! That is a wrap! Until next time my friends keep that popcorn freshly popped and save me a good seat because I will be seeing you again at the movies!
