Hunted By The Predator

Good day my friends hope you all have had a good week so far! I know last week I gave you two reviews and was considering doing it again this week? It still is a possibility but I cannot promise you anything though this time. This week there were 3 new movies released in the theatres and I had to choose one! For the most part I am pretty consistent when it comes to knowing what movies are out to be reviewed and all I have to do is search for their show times. And than there are times when I have to search to see if anything has come out to review. Kind of like a hunter in search of their prey. Well there was no trouble this week and I had to choose so I chose the one that topped the box office this past weekend. That being director Shane Black's(The Nice Guys) sequel to the horror/sci-fi franchise called The Predator. This movie stars Boyd Holbrook(Logan) as Quinn McKenna, Trevante Rhodes(Moonlight), Jacob Tremblay(Room) as Rory McKenna, Keegan-Michael Key(Keanu) as Coyle, Olivia Munn(X-Men Apocalypse) as Casey Bracket as Sterling K. Brown(This Is Us) as Traeger. Lets go on the hunt and see if we hunt down a good review or a bad one.

When an alien Predator is on the run from one of his own carrying something of great importance crash lands in Mexico and kills Army Ranger Quinn McKenna's(Holbrook) entire platoon he sends evidence home in the form of the aliens helmet and wrist cuff that both contain the advanced weapons the creature uses. To prove what happened to his men really existed. What he gets is arrested by a secret government agency that has been investigating the Predator alien since it first arrived back in 1987. McKenna not cooperating with what the government gets placed on a transport with a bunch of looney soldiers with issues of their own to be incarcerated in a mental facility. The government has also enlisted the help of university geneticist Casey Bracket(Munn) to study the one found in Mexico recently that is under heavy sedation. But when McKenna's young son Rory(Tremblay) opens the package and waking the Predator from his sedation and also signalling the one that was in pursuit bringing it to Earth. McKenna and the bus of looney soldiers along with Casey go to his home to find the package only to discover that Rory has opened it and go out in search of him before the Predator does. What they don't know is that a second Predator has landed in search of both it brethren and an item it stole to destroy them both. They eventually find Rory and both Predators find them with the second one killing the first. The group also discovers that this new Predator is larger and more genetically enhanced upgraded from DNA from other species in the galaxy. Having known where the ship containing the stolen material it is looking for the new Predator goes on the hunt after McKenna's young son Rory who has a high mental capability that makes him the new prey for this super Predator. So it is up to McKenna and his rag tag crew of looney soldiers to save his son and stop the Predator.

Well what did you think of that? Does it sound kind of confusing? Or does it sound interesting? Well that's what we are here to find out! So lets get right down to it! Firstly I have to say that while all the trailers looked pretty good and so interesting this movie was fairly weak! The story had too many plot holes and seemed a bit confusing at times but also it seemed very rushed. The dialogue was good with some pretty good humour playing to some of the actors strengths. But for the most part the acting was okay with the exception of Jacob Tremblay putting in a good performance. To me the movie seemed rushed and was just full of action sequences and jokes with little character development. All in all not a great effort! Thats why I am giving this movie a 6.0 on The Justin Scale Of Movies and placing it on my Flick-It Pile of movies to see out of the theatre. That's a wrap here my friends on this latest review! Until next time keep that popcorn freshly popped and save me a good seat because I will be seeing again at the movies!
