The Dinosaurs Leave The Island In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Good day my friends! Well the first official day of summer was last week and we are all going to be out there enjoying the weather. After months cooped up hiding from the winter weather and the spring cleanup we now can go out enjoying the festivals that may be happening, playing outdoor summer sports, bike rides, walks and runs. There will be bbq's, drinks on patios or decks, trips to the lake and trips to another city or trips to another country. For me growing up there was always the annual trips to the family farm and fishing with my grandfather. But as I got older those trips became fewer and fewer. As an adult my summers were spent just hanging around the city spending time with friends and of course going to the movies. Infact I never went on a big trip out of the country to London, England until 2014 and back again in 2015. It is through all the summers that I have accumulated some of my best adventures. But everyday should be an adventure! And through it all there was always one constant...the movies! It is through my life's adventures that I have come up with some great stories that I would one day like to turn into a movie. Now I know what you will say! Justin why would you do that? There is so much competition out there from people who are writing movie screenplays, what makes you think you can do this? The answer is simple! I believe I can and it's my lifelong dream and you should always try to encourage a dream not discourage it! For me it would be another adventure in my life and the chance to take people on an adventure for a couple of hours on the big screen. Speaking of adventures! This weeks movie review takes us back on a familiar adventure we have had before. We go back to the island where dinosaurs have been brought back to life in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The movie stars Bryce Dallas Howard( The Help) as Claire Dearing and Chris Pratt(The Guardians Of The Galaxy) as Owen Grady. So lets take a trip back to the park to see if we should have returned or left it alone!

It has been 3 years since the Indominus Rex escaped and created chaos at the Isla Nublar theme park and resort Jurassic World. The park has been abandoned with the dinosaurs left to fend for themselves. The Masrani Corporation has paid out hundreds of millions of dollars in lawsuit settlements from those who survived the events 3 years ago. No one has been to the island since! Now the islands long dormant volcano is waking up and about to erupt with great force wiping out all life on the island. Back in the USA congress has been having hearings to decide if they should get involved to move the dinosaurs to a new sanctuary so they don’t
become extinct yet again. Some think they should be saved, others say no that they are an extinct species that was brought back to life through genetic tampering. Eventually congress decides to not save the animals, a disappointment to many wanting to save the creatures including former park employee Claire Dearing(Howard). She has now become an advocate for the rights of these animals. To her delight reclusive billionaire Benjamin Lockwood, John Hammonds former business partner who wants to save the animals and move them to a private animal sanctuary on a new island. They need her help to capture the velociraptor Blue as she is the last of her species and quite unique. For this task Claire is needed to turn on the tracking implant in Blue and the help of her former boyfriend Owen Grady(Pratt) to help catch her. Once they get to the island and activate the tracker they find Blue who is captured by the group of men sent by Lockwood's assistant Ed Mills. With the raptor in their possession it is clear they aren't there to save the animals and take them to a sanctuary as they leave Owen and Claire along with one of Claires employees at her foundation to die as the volcano starts to erupt. They barely escape with their lives and soon discover that the boat containing the rescued dinosaurs is not going to a sanctuary but back to Lockwood's estate where Mills plans to auction off the animals to some of the worst and wealthiest people without Lockwood knowing. What they also discover is that Dr. Henry Woo has created a new dinosaur the Indoraptor and the reason they need Blue as they hope to improve future generations of this new and dangerous species that they eventually plan to sell for military applications. They meet Lockwoods granddaughter Maisie an intelligent and precocious little girl who has a secret even she didn't know about. It is because of her that Lockwood and Hammond's business partnership fell apart. The three must stop the exploitation of these animals and the danger of the newly created species and find a place for the dinosaurs in the modern world of humanity.

So what do you think? Does it sound confusing? Because many of the reviews that I have heard thought it was! I also heard that the plot had too many holes, the script was poorly written and that the characters weren't that strong. It was also said that they focused too much on CGI and not enough on story. Lets take a look now at what I saw here with my review! First of all the movie wasn't all that bad yes the script and story could have been stronger but it still was a different approach as to previous movies in this franchise. Maybe it was bit confusing toothers but it still kept my attention. The story was more of a dark tone. There were certain points in the movie that had some plot holes but it still kept my interest as I wanted to see where they were going with the story. The characters of Owen and Claire were pretty much the same as last time but a little toned down on the humour with the script being somewhat more serious but could have used a tad more detail. Some new characters were introduced and weren't that bad as others were saying. All in all the movie did the job of entertaining me and even had a little heart injected in the movie. Not an overly strong movie but still worth a look and enjoyable. Normally if a movie has been given some bad reviews I agree with them but I didn't find Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom that bad! It wasn't perfect but it kept my attention and when a movie is bad I am usually staring at my watch wanting it to be over. This wasn't the case and I am giving it a 6.9 on The Justin Scale Of Movies and putting it on my Pick-It list of movies to check out at the theatre. If you are a fan of the movies and are expecting more of the same people running from dinosaurs on an island well than you are in for a surprise with the direction they have taken here. The time has come now to call it a wrap on this latest review. As always support the movie going experience and get out top see a movie at the theatre and don't illegally download. And remember to save me a good seat, also to keep that popcorn freshly popped because I will be seeing you again at the movies!
