One Last Performance For Pitch Perfect 3

Good day my friends! Happy Thursday to you all! No you are not seeing things I am giving you a review two days in row! It is kind of like being part of a sequel. Must how it feels to be a Hollywood studio giving you sequels to successful movies. We could call it Pick-ItOr-Flick-It movie review the sequel, LOL! Yeah I know bad joke. But hey every movie especially sequels always seem to have some really bad jokes. Ahh the sequel! There have been some great sequels in the past that have been great and even surpassed the original in popularity and success at the box office for example The Empire Strikes Back. And than there have been some sequels that have just been horrible and totally ruined the franchise for example Batman And Robin. In this day and age of movies the trend has not changed at all when it comes to the sequel. And usually when you get to the third movie it seems to be the weakest of movies. Usually fending off the possibility of the new norm in movies..... the franchise. Sometimes you just have to know when to say goodbye and find the best way to do it to give fans the wrap up to their favourite characters that they deserve. This leads us to our latest movie review the curtain call for Bellas in Pitch Perfect 3. This movie brings back many of our favourite characters from the previous two movies that include Anna Kendrick(The Accountant) as Beca, Rebel Wilson(How To Be Single)as Fat Amy, Brittany Snow(Hairspray)as Chloe and Anna Camp(The Help)as Aubrey, Elizabeth Banks(The Hunger Games) as Gail, John Michael Higgins(Big Miracle) as John and John Lithgow(Interstellar) as Fergus. So lets take a look at the Bellas final performance to see if they crushed it or not!

Out in the real world now the Bellas are finding that things are not going the way they thought it would be. After the highs of winning the world championships they are split apart trying to make their way in the world and finding out that there are no job prospects for making music with your mouth. Becca(Kendrick) quits her job as record producer after being disheartened with it. Amy(Wilson) street performs and Chloe(Snow) is waiting to get into vet school. They are invited to what they think is reunion for the Bellas and when all the ladies are gathered there are informed that they were just invited to watch and not perform. Wanting to perform one last time together the Bellas find there way onto a USO tour to perform thanks to Aubrey's father being a general. When they get to Spain they find that all the other groups all use instruments and seemingly out of their element. What makes things even more difficult is that the sponsor of the tour is picking one group the chance to open up the final show and a contract. The usual bumps and bruises as they learn to find their place and make an impression on the tour sponsor. They eventually find their feet and start to make an impression but non more than Becca who is offered by the tour sponsor a record contract and the chance to open the final show but only her and not the rest of the Bellas leaving her with a big decision to make. But as this is going on Amy's illegal arms dealing father has found her and uses the ruse of wanting to watch his daughter perform and be part of her life in order to get his hands on a multi-million dollar bank account in Amy's name in the Cayman Islands. With Amy catching on and refusing to help her dad Fergus(Lithgow) he kidnaps the rest of the Bellas and won't let them go unless Amy helps him. So Amy and Becca sneak aboard Fergus's yacht to rescue the Bellas before the last show and after they all escape the ladies come to the conclusion that they have to move on with their lives but that they will always be family.

Well I do have to say that the movie was okay! It was not what I expected , but than again how many times can you use the same old formula over and over again? While this movie was about learning to move on and had the theme of family is not just about blood but about those who are your friends too! It was a pretty good theme. But the story just seemed all over the place. The choice of music was good in it. And while the movie did have it's moments that made you laugh and cry. The humor this time around did not seem that funny. And some of the characters seemed underused and not well developed. I thought the ending was really good as a perfect way to wrap up this film trilogy. Not a bad movie, but not a great one! It wasn't as good as the first one, the weakest of the trilogy. That's why I am giving this movie a 6.3 on The Justin Scale Of Movies and sadly having to put it on my Flick-It list of movies to wait and see until it is out of theatres. And that's a wrap here for my latest movie review my friends! Until next time keep that popcorn freshly popped and save me a good seat because I will be seeing you at the movies!
