Good day my friends! And welcome back! I kept my promise and am back for another movie review. This week I am giving you quite the treat with two reviews in 3 days! I usually only give you one per week. But I figured what the hell! There were two movies that i wanted to see this week and decided to give you an early Christmas present. There is something heat about changing things up. Not all change is permanent in some cases but the one thing for sure is that it is good for us all. They can help us to change the way we see ourselves and the way others see us or the world around them. The best change I always think is shaking off the perceptions we have of people because of how they look or act and get to know them regardless of what others may think. That’s an important thing young and old can remember! We should never judge a book by its cover, we need to read the whole novel because chances are that book is really great! This leads us into this weeks movie review because as you all know who read my reviews is that my little bit of wisdom usually has something to do with my recent movie review. This week we are taking a look at the family drama Wonder which stars Jacob Tremblay(Room) as Auggie, Owen Wilson(Wedding Crashers) as Nate, Izabela Vidovic(Homefront) as Via and Julia Roberts(Pretty Woman) as Isabel. So let us sit back, relax and find out all about this movie which has ben getting rave reviews all around.
August Pullman or Auggie(Tremblay) for short was born with facial differences having undergone over 20 surgeries to help him hear, see and breathe.so scared of how others will judge him he wears a space helmet to hide his face. But Auggie’s life is about to change in a big way! after being home schooled for most of his life his parents decide it is time for him to go to attend the fifth grade in a local prep school. He at first is scared and ostracized by his fellow classmates but soon makes friends with a boy in his class named Jack. Thinking things are about to change he hears Jack making fun of him with the popular kids in his class to try and gain their favour. This disheartens him thinking no one will really want to be his friend but to too long after that he makes a new friend. Not knowing why Auggie does not want to talk to him anymore Jack soon finds out why and begins to feel guilty and misses hanging out with Auggie eventually standing up for him when Julian a boy who has been bullying Auggie starts to make fun of Auggie. Eventually Jack and Auggie become friends again and Julian is suspended after a very cruel bullying tactic. Soon Auggie’s strength and heart gains him more friends than he ever imagined. While all of this is going on the people in his life have been going through things too such as his sister Via who loves her brother dearly feels like the forgotten child. She is also starting high school and is heartbroken when her best friend Miranda suddenly abandons their friendship. She soon meets the acquaintance of a young man named Justin who convinces her to join the drama club and they eventually start dating. Via’s and Miranda also become friends again. Through all of this Auggie’s journey in this one year unites his family and classmates and proves that you can’t blend in when you born to stand out.
So there have been times that I have disagreed with other reviewers and times that i have agreed with them. This time I have to agree with them whole heartedly. This was a truly wonderful movie ( Excuse the pun) . It was full of heart and humour, making you laugh just as much as you shed a tear. The story was perfectly told here in this superbly rotten screenplay. The characters were intriguing and fun. You really could connect with what they were going through in some way. Jacob Tremblay did a fantastic job again just like he did in the movie Room. Owen Wilson was both fun and charming and Julia Roberts was great as per usual. This movie was great from beginning to end and really entertained me. It captured my heart and all those seated in the theatre. This is a movie that would be great for the whole family to see. That is why I giving this movie which doesn’t really have any flaws in it a 8.4 on The Justin Scale Of Movies and putting it on my list of movies that you must definitely see in the theatre. There you have it my friends! It’s a wrap on this latest movie review! So until nest time remember to keep that popcorn freshly popped and to save me a good seat because I will be seeing you all at the movies!
