Stronger An Example Of The Human Spirit

Good day my friends and happy Sunday! No you are not seeing things! I am doing an early movie review. But not to worry there will still be one on Wednesday as well. I am just doing two this week because there was a couple of movies that I want to see this past week. You know I was thinking the other day about change and how scary it can be! Also about how certain things that happen in our lives will challenge us to grow as people. Without these things we will never become the person that we were meant to be. The talents we are given and the challenges put before us mood and shape us. Although it is up to us to do the growing by not giving up and putting in the effort everyday to make ourselves better. Life will knock us down but it is when we rise up and keep getting up every time that we are knocked down that we will get stronger and eventually move past these things that hold us down. It is when we believe in ourselves and have the proper motivation that we too can inspire others and become the stuff that they write movies about. This it seems has become common place for me when I write one of these reviews to throw a little bit of wisdom in it for a reason. Yes I have a reason for all this rambling. That being that it ties into the movie we are reviewing this week. And this week we are reviewing the biographical drama Stronger which stars Jake Gyllenhaal (Southpaw) as Jeff Bauman and Tatiana Maslany(Orphan Black) as Erin Hurley. So lets sit back relax and find out all about this heart wrenching drama.

Jeff Bauman(Gyllenhaal) is just your everyday, average working class person from Boston. The two things he loves the most are the Boston Red Sox which he believes that if he is not in his certain seat having a beer than they will not win. The other is his on again, off again girlfriend Erin Hurley(Maslany) a nurse who would just wish that Jeff would show up for things and grow up. Two things that was always an issue in their relationship. But Jeff is determined to win her back and promises to come and see her run the Boston Marathon. On race day he does just that and even makes a sign for her. But just as she is in the final stretch of the race bombs go off stopping the race, injuring and killing people. One of the people severally injured is Jeff who she didn't think showed up until she saw him getting helped on the news. The bomb that went off was close to Jeff and his legs were pretty much destroyed causing him to have them amputated above the knees. His family and friends keep a vigil at the hospital while he lays unconscious. When he finally does wake up he has some important information that he saw one of the bombers which helps the police and FBI find them. Jeff becomes a hero to the city of Boston but he is overwhelmed by all the attention and suffers from painful memories of the bombings. The road to his recovery is a tough one with numerous physical therapy session which he is constantly late for causing frustration to Erin who has dropped everything in her life to move in with Jeff and his alcoholic mother to help him. But when Erin has some happy news to tell him he fails to show up and says he can't handle it she leaves him. Than one day he meets  Carlos the man who helped save his life at marathon bombings and hears his story. It is after that Jeff puts in full on effort in his physical therapy to walk again and not only becoming a true symbol hope and determination but also showing Erin that he is the man she needs him to be.

Wow! That sounds like a really great movie doesn't it? Well I can tell you that it is! How do I know you ask? It's simple, I went to see it last night silly! This movie had great performances put in by Jake Gyllenhaal and Tatiana Maslany in perfectly written movie. This movie made you believe in yourself  with the story of Jeff Bauman that if he could go through all that he did. Than you too could rise above all the things that try and hold you back to become the symbol for others of hope and triumph. This movie made you both laugh and cry. It connected the audience with the characters on screen.Basically there was not much wrong with this movie. This movie is a tale of the true triumph of the human spirit. That is why I am giving this movie a 7.7 on The Justin Scale Of Movies and putting it on my Pick-It List of movies to see at the theatre. That is a wrap here my friends on this latest movie review. But tune in later this week for another one. Until then keep the popcorn freshly popped and save me a good seat. cause I will see you all next time at the movies.
