Wonder Woman Truly Wonderous On The Big Screen

Good day my friends! How have you all been since I last wrote a review on here for you? Good I hope! If not than I hope everything that is wrong starts to go tight for you! Was thinking the other day about heroism and what exactly makes a one a hero. Does it require superpowers, well in a way it does but not in the way you see in the comics. But the superpower that does show up in every person that shows an act of heroism is the ability to do something extraordinary in in the face of adversity. To be able to sacrifice for the greater good! That is what defines a hero and heroes walk among us everyday and we just don't see it! From the parent who makes sacrifices so their kids can have a good life and teach them to be the best possible version of themselves even when the world seems unjust. The teacher who helps their students to become all that they can be and help them to work to achieve it. The emergency service workers and those who serve in the military to make sure we are safe. The child fighting a life threatening disease with courage and a smile and the doctors & nurses who treat them.  Heroes are not gender biased or one particular race or work in one particular job. They come in all shapes and sizes, they are men and women, they are in all countries all over the world. These are the heroes that have inspired so many people to create the superheroes that we read about in the comics and now see on the big screen. This leads us to this weeks movie review the long awaited stand alone movie for DC comics most popular female heroes Wonder Woman which stars Gal Gadot(Fast Five) as the amazonian princess Diana also known as Wonder Woman and Chris Pine( Star Trek) as Steve Trevor. Let us take a look at this classic characters very first movie to see just how wondrous she is!

On hidden island of Themyscira created by Zeus to hide the amazons from the god of war Ares and from the world of man. The  young princess Diana dreams of being a warrior like her mother Queen Hippolyta(Connie Nielsen) and Antiope (Robin Wright) but her mother would rather her not be trained to be a warrior. She is filled with stories of how she was brought to life from a moulded figure of clay by Zeus and of about the return of Ares and the weapons that the amazons were given to defeat him. It isn't till she is older that her mother allows her too be trained but to be trained harder than any amazon before her to make her ready for the day that she is needed to help fight the god of war when he returns. Than one day an army spy Steve Trevor(Pine) crashes a plane just off the coast of the hidden island and Diana rescues him from the watery wreck. But he is not alone and the German army is following him and the secret island of Themyscira is no longer a secret and the conflict of World War One has found its way there. Many amazons die fighting off the Germans and after hearing about the great war from Steve and the dangerous weapon that they are developing, Diana and the amazons are convinced that Ares has returned. Diana takes some of the amazon weapons to go with Steve to find Ares and stop the war without her mother knowing but is caught by her mother before she can leave. Against her better judgement she knows that Diana must go and as it is her destiny and duty to protect the world. So she wishes her well and Diana and Steve go to London so Steve can tell the military council what he found out about the weapon. From there they along with three others decide to go and try and find the military facility where the dangerous weapon is being made on the western front of the war to destroy it and for Diana to find Ares and destroy him and end the war.

Well I know my plot outline seems kind of long but I always liked a little detail especially in the movies that I watch so hopefully I didn't give away too much and didn't miss anything here! Firstly let me say that I thought this movie was extremely well done with the right mix of light hearted comedy, action and drama put in the script. The story was well told and easy to follow with a great origin story and director Patty Jenkins(Monster) who had only directed one other movie on the big screen did a fantastic job with this movie really capturing a true essence of the amazon superhero. Along with a great performance by Gal Gadot in the lead as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman and a great supporting cast this movie had all the great makings of a truly fantastic superhero movie. This marks the first time that a DC comics movie has had rave reviews along with box office success. Congratulations to them and for also showing the first female superhero movie before Marvel did and having it be a success. This was a great movie from start to finish full of everything that makes an awesome movie. I fully recommend this movie making it on to my Pick-It list of movies to see at the theatre and I mean at the theatre don't cheat and try and watch it on one of those Android boxes. Go to the theatre and see it! With that said I am giving it a 8.8 on the Justin Scale Of Movies making it a highly rated movie for summer 2017 along with one other movie this summer that being another superhero movie The Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2. So far the superheroes have ruled the box-office and my rating chart. That is a wrap here my friends on this latest review! Until next time remember to keep that popcorn freshly popped for me and I will see you next time at the movies.
