Now after searching for something that happened this day in film history and I didn't have to look far as it was the the one that was at the top of the page when I did a search. On this day in 1982 John Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity for his assassination attempt in 1981 of former actor and president Ronald Reagan.
