Sun,Fun,Sand and Cheesiness Of Baywatch

Well hello my friends hope you are doing well today! Yes I know this is a surprise that I am doing a review early but I did go to the movies this past weekend and happened to catch one of two movies released this past weekend which happens to be Memorial Day down in the USA. So to my neighbours and friends living in the USA I wish you a happy Memorial Day. Like I said this weekend had two movies released on this past weekend vying for the crown of box office champ. One I saw and the other I will be seeing tomorrow night. Now as the weather gets warmer most of us like to spend most of our time enjoying the nice weather going for runs, bike rides, checking out all the events that happen at this time of year and going to the beach. Kind of funny I say that as today we are going to the beach for this movie review. If you haven't guessed which movie I am talking about by subtle hint I gave and by the title, well than  don't know what to say, hahaha! You see this week we are checking out the movie based on the hit television show from the 1990's Baywatch which stars Dwayne Johnson (Fate Of The Furious), Zack Efron(Neighbours) and Alexandra Daddario(San Andreas). So lets take a trip to the beach and see whats going down!

Mitch Buchannon( Johnson) is the most admired and popular lifeguard on the beach in Emerald Bay. He is the lieutenant of the bay watch lifeguards that keep the beach safe. He takes his job very seriously and sometimes too far as to what the responsibilities of a lifeguard are. Fate saddles him with the cocky and brash new recruit Matt Brody(Efron) a former two time olympic swimmer who happens to be on court appointed probation. The two butt heads at first meeting and continue to about the seriousness of their job. Brody thinks it is all just watching the people on the beach, getting a tan and occasionally saving someone from drowning. Mitch fills him in that it is so much more and that on his beach it also includes investigating crimes committed on the beach even though he is a lifeguard and not a cop. When drugs start washing up on the shore of the beach Mitch believes it to be the wealthy new business woman Victoria Leeds (Priyanka Chopra) along with his fellow lifeguards they take it upon themselves to find out the truth and save the bay.

Well it does sound a little like the old television show but it also isn't nothing like it. You see this movie was more of a comedy than an action drama. Johnson and Efron seem to have a great comedic chemistry and were fun to watch. The movie had quite a few laughs most of which were aimed at some of the cheesiness of the original television show and if you had ever watched it you would know what they were making fun of. The story was okay but could have used a little more detail and was bit far fetched but than again so was the TV shows. The movie was better than I expected after hearing about some of the bad reviews it got. This movie was basically a lot of t and a with a lot of humour. But all in all it was still enjoyable and am giving it a 6.6 on the Justin Scale Of Movies. It was a 50/50 shot at which category to put it in but I would have to put it in the Pick-It pile as I liked the humour. That is a wrap on this latest review here my friends so until next time keep that popcorn freshly popped and waiting and I will see you again at the movies.
