So in the distant future mutants and humans who help them or carry the mutant x-gene to one day give birth to a mutant are captured and killed by robots known as sentinels created by the Trask Corporation. But these sentinels are so much different than the original sentinels because they can adapt to mutants powers in order to kill them. Driven into hiding what remains of the X-Men, Professor Xavier(Stewart), Storm(Berry), Iceman(Ashmore),Kitty(Page), Wolverine(Jackman) along with Magneto(McKellan) and a few other mutants named Bishop, Blink, Colossus and Sunspot have gathered to find a way to end the war against mutants and stop the sentinel threat. What they decide to do is send Wolverines present day consciousness back into his younger self in the mid 1970's and find the young Charles Xavier(McAvoy) and Magneto(Fassbender) in order to unite and find Mystique(Lawrence) before she kills Dr. Bolivar Trask(Dinklage) at the Paris peace talks. Trask is the creator of the sentinels and he believes that mutants are a huge threat and has been experimenting on them. His death at the hands of Mystique results in her getting captured by Trask Industries and the sentinel program being initiated. But to add more to that Mystique's DNA is used to help further the advancement in the sentinel program resulting in the adaptive abilities that the sentinels will have in the future. But what Logan/Wolverine finds is that Charles Xavier has lost faith in himself and mankind and that Magneto is locked in a secure prison beneath the Penatgon. But after he convinces Charles to help and with the help of a mutant known as Quicksilver free's Magneto from prison. They head to try and stop Mystique but in their attempt they change things for the worst and history is still the same with Mystique still trying to kill Trask. While Wolverine's consciousness in the past while sentinels are getting closer in the future, the past must be changed before it's too late.
