Witnessing 300 Rise Of An Empire

Good day my friends well I know it is a little late for my usual weekly movie review but in my defines I had caught the flu so that it why this weeks is coming to you later than usual. With that all being said I bet you are just itching for me to tell what movie is being reviewed. But you know me I have to do this little bit of introduction thing here first. Kind of like my way of building suspense and having a flare for the dramatic. So to not waste to much more time here I am going to continue on here and give you what you came for. This weeks movie review is 300 Rise Of An Empire the sequel to the hit movie 300 which are both directed by Zach Snyder( Man Of Steel). This movie stars Sullivan Stapleton( Gangster Squad) as Themistocles, Eva Green(Casino Royale) as Artemisia and Lena Headey( Game Of Thrones) as Queen Gorgo of Sparta. So let us not waste anymore time here and get right into the thick of the battle between the Greeks and the Persians on the big screen shall we?

Taking place around the same time that the 300 Spartan warriors led by King Leonidas was fighting the battle of Thermopale and the continuing invasion of the Persian army led by the God king Xerxes.   Xerxes has his sights set on ruling all of Greece with Athens next on his list after Sparta. Leading the battle against the Persian army is Themistocles(Stapleton) the hero of the battle of Marathon and the man who shot the arrow that killed Xerxes' father King Darius and now wishes that he had killed Xerxes as well. The city of Athens is mostly made up of intellectuals and farmers but have a fairly strong navy. This places Themistocles up against Artemisia(Green) a ruthless and vengeful commander of the Persian Navy who wishes to see Greece fall because of past wrongs done against her and her family. As the battle ensues on the water between Persia and Athens with Themistocles using some cunning strategies to beat back Artemisia and her Navy as Leonidas and the  300 Spartans continue to battle on against Xerxes' army. But eventually the Persian army breaks through on land and on sea. And with the defeat of Leonidas it is just the thing needed by Themistocles to help unite all of Greece to fight against Xerxes. With his numbers depleted and Athens fallen to Xerxes Themistocles sets out for one last battle in hopes that he can kill Artemisia and defeat the Persian Navy and that maybe all of Greece might still unite as one to fight back to defeat the Persian Army.

Well this sounds like quite the exciting movie and if you are a bit of a history buff than what you read so far might just peak your interest. But wait before this movie ends I should tell you what I thought of this movie. First of all I have to say that I found this movie had tons of action and excitement, it really had some great battle scenes. The story flowed very nicely it kept me glued to my seat and waiting to see what happened next. It didn't lose me at any time there was no slow parts in this movie, some very good writing. The characters were well written and acted especially by Eva Green in her portrayal of the Persian Navy commander Artemisia which was fantastic. The cinematography was great loved the camera shots and angles . All in all a really grey movie done by director Zach Snyder I actually didn't want it to end!

The movie is just about finished here so before the credits start rolling I guess  I should give you my final rating. Now after thinking about what would be the best resting for this movie over the course of writing the review here I finally came up with my decision. For 300 Rise Of An Empire I am going to be giving this movie a 8.0 on the Justin Scale Of Movies it was a good time at the movies and totally deserves this rating. With that being said it means that this movie has definitely made it onto my Pick-It pile of movies that you must see at the theatre  especially if you liked the first one you will love this one!

By the credits rolling on the screen, the lights coming up and people starting to walk out of the theatre I guess that means it is time to call it a wrap on this latest review. So until next time my friends Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and as always Good Viewing. I will see you all next time at the movies.
