Next Stop Last Vegas

Good day my friends! Well another week has arrived and so has a new month and with every new week and new month comes new movies at the theatre. So this week there were quite a few to choose from for this weeks movie review. And after thinking long and hard about which movie i should choose I finally came to a decision on it. My decision came down to this, I went and chose a comedy and that comedy was the movie Last Vegas which boasts some big name veteran talent actors. This movie stars Michael Douglas( The American President) as Billy, Robert De Niro( Meet The Parents) as Paddy, Morgan Freeman( The Shawshank Redemption) as Archie and Kevin Kline( A Fish Called Wanda) as Sam. Well that's quite the impressive cast list don't you think? Now let us see how the movie is and what it is all about. So let us take a trip to Vegas shall we as the lights go down and the movie gets ready to start.

Life long friends Billy( Douglas), Paddy(De Niro), Archie(Freeman) and Sam(Kline) have been the best of friends since childhood  in New York and have been known as The Flatbush Four. Well the years go by quick and the Flatbush Four have reached their 60's and things have changed for them. Archie is living with his son who is over protective of his father who had a small stroke a while ago. Sam is living in Florida with his wife and is bored of it and longs for a little fun & excitement. Paddy is living on his own still mourning the loss of his lifelong love Sophie. And Billy has been a life long bachelor living out in California and is currently dating a 32 year old woman to which he has just proposed to. Billy immediately phones Archie and Sam to tell them the big news and that he is going to be getting married in Las Vegas and would like them to come to it. But he also needs them to try and convince Paddy to come to Vegas as Paddy is still mad at Billy for not coming to Sophie's funeral and wants all of his friends there for his big day. Well after Sam gets a free pass to do whatever from his wife and Archie sneaks out of the house. They make their way to Paddy's and eventually convince him to come to Vegas with them. While in Vegas the four men show the city that age means nothing from judging a bikini contest, winning over a hundred thousand in blackjack, getting a comped penthouse suite, having a VIP booth at the casino's nightclub to throwing their own big party in the penthouse. With all of this going on the four mens friendship grows stronger and Billy begins to question his upcoming marriage as he has fallen for a lounge singer named Diana( Mary Steenburgen).

Well that movie sounds pretty interesting if I do say so myself and than maybe I should tell you what I thought of it than. You see I personally thought this movie was really well done. It had some smart and funny writing with the characters and story. It actually kind of surprised me because when you do a comedy it has to have both good writing and the right kind of actors to pull it off. Which this movie had both of. De Niro, Douglas, Freeman and Kline were a joy to watch. They made this movie so much fun and if I must say so Kevin Kline did basically steal a lot of the scenes and hasn't lost his comedic touch. These are four actors who can pull off a wide range of genres and proved it in this comedy.

So I guess with that said and the lights about to come up in the theatre here I suppose I should get to the next part of this review. And that part being my rating on this movie here. So I am not going to not waste to much time rambling on here just trying to fill a paragraph. Oops I just did that didn't I? Oh well  guess I did the exact opposite, lol! Now for real here is my final rating on the movie Last Vegas. I give this movie a 7.5 on the Justin Scale of Movies my friends and that puts it in my Pick-It pile of movies that I recommend you take a look at in the theatre. And I fully recommend that you go check out this movie it has good actors, good story, a lot of humour and some heart.

I guess the movie is done now, with the lights going up and the credits rolling might have been a major clue to that along with all the people leaving the theatre. That can only mean one thing and that is that it is time for me to call it a wrap on this latest movie review. As always my friends Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and as always Good Viewing. I will see you all again at the movies my friends.
