Seeing Red 2

Well hello my friends , welcome back to another movie review it seems like it has been a while since I have done one even though it has only been 2 weeks since my last review. So I bet you are wondering what movie I am reviewing this week, and the answer to that question will soon be answered. You see with July almost being over that means there is only one more month kept in the Summer movie season. It also means that the Summer movie season is winding down as well and there still has to be some good releases left to finish off the month of July. This week we take a look at Summer sequel, this week we take a look at the movie Red 2. This movie stars Bruce Willis ( Die Hard) as retired CIA agent Frank Moses, John Malkovich ( Transformers Dark Of The Moon) as Marvin Boggs, Mary Louise Parker( Weeds) as Sarah, Helen Mirren ( National Treasure: Book Of Secrets) as Victoria and Anthony Hopkins( The Silence Of The Lambs) as Bailey. So we have our seats, our popcorn and drink are by our side and the movie is about to start, let us see just how this movie is.

Retired CIA agent Frank Moses( Willis) is content with living a nice simple quiet life with his girlfriend Sarah(Parker)  and being a little to overprotective of her as well from his past. His friend and former agent Marvin Boggs( Malkovich) wants him to come out of retirement  because he believes that Frank is not happy. But it takes Marvin faking his death, the CIA taking Frank in for questioning and an interrogation  specialist  with a hit squad asking Frank about a weapon known as Nightshade to which Frank and Marvin have been implicated in to bring him back in the game.So Frank, Marvin and Sarah are off to find out all about Nightshade knowing that they now have a contract out on their lives by the CIA who have hired the best contract killer who is also an old adversary of Franks and MI6 has also put a contract out on them hiring their old friend Victoria(Mirren). Their search leads them to Paris where they run into an old girlfriend of Franks and Russian General Katia( Catherine Zeta-Jones) who helps them find an informant known as The Frog who seems to have knowledge on NightShade. They find The Frog gives them a key to his safety deposit box which Katia takes  after drugging Frank but it wasn't the real key because marvin switches it knowing that Katia is Franks one weakness. The evidence in the safety deposit box leads them to London and with the help of Victoria who has decided not to fulfill her contract to MI6 and help out her friends instead they find Bailey(Hopkins) a brilliant weapons maker thought to have been dead but instead locked up in a secure government wing of a mental hospital. They break Bailey out in hopes that his knowledge of Nightshade which he made and where it is stored in Russia will help them out and stop whoever is looking to use the bomb and clear Franks and Marvin's name.

Well this sounds like a pretty decent movie, full of star power, some action and some laughs, so let  us take a closer look at Red 2 just to see how good it really is. So basically I found this movie to be not to bad to phrase it simply. The story was good it really seemed to carry itself well and didn't make you loose interest. The acting was good as well especially when you get this many veteran actors in one movie, they really seem to work well together. I loved the comedy thrown in it to make it a light hearted action comedy, the jokes were not to over the top and just got the laughs that they were looking for. All in all a pretty good movie for a sequel which tend to usually not as good as the original. Know I would tell you more but really if you are interested in seeing this movie I don't want to give to much away now do I.

So the movie is just about over the credits are going to start rolling soon so I guess it means we should get going with the final rating of this movie. Now while I was thinking about what to rate this movie it took me a day to think about it and I eventually came up with it. So my decision on what to give Red 2 is this , I give it a 7.5 on The Justin Scale and make this a Pick-It movie. It is worth your viewing dollars and you won't be disappointed in it.

Well the movie is officially over, the people are clearing out of the theatre as the lights come up so I guess we better get moving out of the theatre before they start cleaning up around me. This is officially a wrap on this weeks movie review so until next time my friends. Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and as always Good Viewing I will see you all next time at the movies.
