Look Up In The Sky It's The Man Of Steel

Good day my friends, a good day to you all! Now I know I am early with this weeks review but this is one movie that I just couldn't wait to see and review. You see this weeks review is some what special to me you see for me Superman was always my favourite superhero. It might be because like him I wore glasses and was always a little bit different. So if you haven't guessed by now what my latest review is on than I guess no one was reading the title. You see this weeks review is on the Zach Snyder(300) directed and Christopher Nolan( Batman Begins) produced re-boot of the Superman movie franchise Man Of Steel. This movie stars Henry Cavill( Immortals) in the lead role of Superman, Amy Adams( The Fighter) as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe( Gladiator) as Jor-El, Michael Shannon(The Iceman) as General Zod, Kevin Costner(Field Of Dreams) as Jonathan Kent and Diane Lane(The Perfect Storm) as Martha Kent. Now I what we have all seen in previous Superman movies and what we expect from a movie produced by Christopher Nolan seeing he resurrected the Batman movies, so let us just see how good this movie and what it's all about. The theatre lights have all gone down the movie is about to start as we sit with our popcorn and drinks anxiously awaiting the return of Superman to the big screen.

On the planet Krypton children are genetically created and no natural births have occurred in centuries, that is until the planets greatest scientist Jor-El(Crowe) and his wife Lara(Ayelet Zurer) choose to do so as they wanted to have a child that got to choose what he wanted to be in life not what he was created to do. But it would not be on Krypton because the planet's core is depleting and soon the entire planet will be destroyed. But just as Jor-El is explaining the planets fate and his plans to try and save some of the planets inhabitants Kryptons greatest military leader General Zod( Shannon) and his followers have planned a coup to take over and start over with him as leader. Jor-El escapes from Zod's men, steals the Codex a device that holds all the genetic make-up of the people of Krypton which he takes and implants in his son Kal-El before he sends him to Earth. But as he is son to Earth Zod has come with his followers to take the Codex from Jor-El with Jor-El dying protecting his family. Zod and his followers are sentenced to banishment in a frozen state of animation to the Phantom Zone but before his punishment is carried out he swears to Lara that he will find her son no matter where he has been hidden. The ship carrying Kal-El has landed in Kansas and the boy is raised by Jonathan(Costner) and Martha( Lane) Kent a farmer and his wife and they would name him Clark. Growing up Clark had difficulty understanding why he was different and why he could do the things he could do until one day his adoptive father explains to him how he came to them and that he is not of this Earth. Clark drifts around from place to place as an adult trying to figure out why he is here until one day he overhears that a large object , that is strange in nature has been discovered under the ice in the Arctic . There he discovers who he, where he came from and why he was sent to Earth in the form of his long dead birth father Jor-El. As he finally figures out what his purpose should be  he is still unsure as if to trust the people of Earth. He does find a person to trust in the form of reporter Lois Lane(Adams) who has been looking for him after he saved her life in the Arctic and finally tracked him down in Smallville to which he explains why he won't reveal himself and asks that she shouldn't either. But his destiny calls as the evil General Zod  has been searching for him throughout space after he and his followers were freed from the Phantom Zone when Krypton exploded. Zod demands that the people of Earth hand over Kal-El or he will destroy the Earth. But Zod wants the Codex to that was sent with Kal-El in and rebuild Krypton on Earth and ultimately exterminating the human population of Earth, and it is up to Superman to stop him.

Now that sounds like quite the exciting movie like there is a lot going on in it and can be quite the spectacle. So let me tell you what I thought of this movie. I thought that this movie was really well done , a nice and unique take on the Superman story a different look to this classic superhero than what we are used to seeing in past movies. The characters were believable and the actors did a great job of portraying them. All in all a really well done movie, I really don't have any negative comment to say about this movie. It was a visually stunning and creatively written movie from start to finish.

So this movie is about to come to an end and I guess I should wrap up this review and give my final rating before the credits role. While thinking in the theatre after the movie and on the walk back to my car it didn't take me long to think of what my rating should be. My final rating for the re-boot of the Superman franchise Man Of Steel would have to be an 8.8 on the Justin Scale of movies. The rating of course puts this movie in the Pick-It Pile of Movies to see. This movie was well worth my viewing dollars , I can't say enough that it was really well done and I would totally see it again.

The lights have come up, my popcorn is finished and people are starting to leave the theatre. This only means one thing and that is not only that the movie is over but that this review is too and it is time to call it a wrap on this latest instalment. As always my friends Good morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening and as always Good Viewing, I will see you all again at the movies. :)
