As Happy As An Elf For December's Dvd Pick

Hello there my friends, yup you guessed it the time has come for my annual dvd pick of the month and this month I have picked something fitting for the Christmas season. This month I have gone and chosen the movie Elf which stars Will Ferrell ( Old School) as Buddy The Elf and James Caan ( The Godfather) Walter Hobbs. The Movie is directed by Jon Favreau who is well known for directing the first two Ironman movies.

One Christmas Eve while delivering toys to an orphanage Santa Claus gets a surprise on his return to the North Pole as a baby boy has crawled into his bag of toys. Now Santa decides to have the child raised by an older elf who had never had any children. As the Buddy gets older he realizes that he does not fit in with the other elves so Papa Elf ( Bob Newhart) tells him all about who he really is. Wanting to find a place where he belongs Buddy decides to go and meet his real dad Walter Hobbs ( Caan) who happens to live in New York City working in a publishing house specializing in children books. While getting ready for his trip to New York to find his dad Buddy(Ferrell) finds out from Santa that his dad  is on  Santa's naughty list. Buddy also finds out that the world is seriously lacking Christmas spirit that affects Santa's ability to deliver toys on Christmas Eve. While in New York Buddy has trouble convincing his father that he is his son but eventually does and falls in love with a department store elf named Jovie ( Zooey Deschanel) . Buddy tries to teach his dad the true meaning of Christmas spirit in hopes of getting him off the naughty list and also helping the world find theirs as well.

This is the perfect holiday movie for both old and young, Will Ferrell's character of Buddy the Elf is enjoyable to watch. He brings a sort of child like innocence to his role of Buddy which makes you remember kind of what you were like as a child. This movie is both funny and heart warming a true favourite of mine to watch at Christmas time and that is why it is December's DVD pick. I hope you enjoy my pick for this month and incase I forget Merry Christmas to you all.
