With Junes DVD Pick Of The Month We Searched With ' The Ghost And The Darkness"

Good day my friends the time of the month has come to reveal to you all my dvd pick of the month for June . So with this month's pick we go back all the way to the year 1996 a year when the summer Olympics were held in Atlanta, Bill Clinton wins a second term as President , Prince Charles and Princess Diana get divorced , DVD is launched  in Japan , Ebay first starts and Dolly the Sheep becomes the first animal to e successfully cloned. It was also a year of many great movies having been released Independence Day , The Rock , Twister , A Time To Kill , The English Patient , Jerry Maguire and this month's DVD pick of the month ' The Ghost And The Darkness " . This particular movie starred screen legend Michael Douglas ( Wall Street) as big game hunter Remington, Douglas was also was executive producer of this film along with Steven Reuther and  Val Kilmer( Batman Forever) as  Colonel John Patterson construction engineer.

In 1896 in East Africa Colonel John Patterson ( Kilmer) a construction engineer is sent to Tsavo to design and build a bridge over the river Tsavo for the government of Great Britain for the construction of the railway in Africa.With the bridge being built on schedule and gaining respect for killing a man eating lion with one shot  no one could have foreseen what was going to happen in Tsavo as not one but two man eating lions go on a rampage constantly killing but not killing for food but for sport it seems. With these two lions striking fear into the hearts of the men working on the railway shutting down construction in Tsavo Patterson attempts to try and kill the lions with no success . Enter big game hunter Remington ( Douglas ) hired to come to Tsavo to kill the lions but with still no success in killing them it seems the lions almost have a somewhat supernatural knack for knowing the traps set out for them and have become known as the ghost and the darkness by the local tribesman.When the hunters have become the hunted Patterson and Remington set out with determination to kill the lions and stop their bloody rampage so that construction can be completed on the bridge and the railway and life can get back to normal.

I picked this movie because of it's wonderfully intriguing story especially seeing that this movie is based on true events that happened in Africa or as it was advertised that only the most incredible parts of the story are true.This was a really well done movie from start to finish with excitement and intrigue, a interesting story and  the acting in this movie was really good as well . Michael Douglas and Val Kilmer gave us some convincing performances in this tale of man versus beast. For these reasons I give this movie a 8.0 on the Justin Scale and make it June's DVD Pick Of The Month.
