Hello my friends and welcome back to another review , a review that takes us on a long journey one that takes us across the stars to another galaxy to a distant planet . This time we are taken on a journey by director Ridley Scott ( Alien , Gladiator ) as he gives us the movie Prometheus starring Noomi Rapace ( Sherlock Holmes : a Game Of Shadows) as Elizabeth Shaw , Michael Fassebender( X-Men First Class) as David, Idris Elba (Thor) as Janek, Guy Pierce ( The Kings Speech) as Peter Weyland and Charlize Theron ( Snow White And the Huntsman) as Meredith Vickers. Ridley Scott returns us to the deep regions of space in this movie which he has said is not a prequel to his hit movie Alien (1979) but a different story that has a connection to it . So are we all ready, good then lets blast off and get on our way because it is going to be quite the trip.
In the Year 2089 a team of explorers which include Elizabeth Shaw ( Rapace) make a discovery in the form of a cave painting about our origins on Earth that are identical to other portraits found in other countries around the earth. Move ahead to the year 2093 and Peter Weyland ( Pierce) head of the Weyland Corporation has funded a scientific expedition to a distant planet that was mapped out on the portraits from around the world that might lead us to answers about our origins.The scientific space vessel Prometheus piloted by Janek (Elba) is nearing the destination of the planet from the portraits carrying 16 crew members which include Elizabeth Shaw her colleague Charlie Holloway ( Logan Marshall-Green) , an android named David ( Fassebender) and a member of the corporation Meredith Vickers ( Theron). As the ship lands on the planet scientists Shaw & Holloway along with David and three other scientists make their way to pyramid like structure to search for the answers that they were looking for . But what they discover is so much more than what they expected as they find the corpses of the alien beings that have the exact DNA as us and some black ooze that is some sort of biological weapon on what turns out to be the alien space craft with one of the beings still alive intending to go to Earth.
Well we've almost made it back into our solar system just a few miles more and we will be homes let us keep going. Now personally I must say that this was a very interesting movie given to us by director Ridley Scott it kept you watching with intrigue as you were finding out the connection of this movie to the movie Alien. He did a really good job of keeping the movie flowing right along with no lull in the story and a few surprises in it that made it even more interesting to watch. A job well done as well by the actors their roles were well played and were enjoyable to watch . This movie gave you a good story along with all the special effects that were used in a movie of this nature so it wasn't just about the special effects in the movie and i applaud Ridley Scott for this.
We are about to land so let's get right to it and give you my rating on Prometheus and am going to give this movie a 7.9 on the Justin Scale for the reasons listed above and I make this movie a Pick-It, definitely one to see.This movie does not fail to disappoint and even makes you think a little , check it out if you get the chance.
