Being Brave

Well welcome I am back as I had promised with part two of my back to back reviews for you all.In this second review we are going on a journey , a journey of self discovery to the highlands of Scotland in Disney and Pixars latest collaboration the animated film Brave. This movie stars the voice talents of Kelly MacDoanald( No Country for Old Men) as  Princess Merida , Billy Connolly (The Last Samurai)  as King Fergus and Emma Thompson ( Men In Black 3) as Queen Elinor. Lets start our journey shall we the beautiful country of Scotland awaits us so lets get started.

As a child Princess Merida ( MacDonald) was always a wild , free and independent girl wanting to do as her heart desires such as shooting a bow and arrow like her father the King Fergus ( Connolly) does. As she gets older her spirit grows even more independent and wants nothing to do with being all prim and proper like the way her mother that a Princess should act. She wants to have adventures , shoot her bow and arrow and be her own woman but when it is time for her to be betrothed to a suitor from one of the 3 clans. When the clans arrive to present their first born sons to compete in a competion chosen by the Princess to see will end up marrying her , Merida decides to compete for her own hand for the right to choose her own destiny . This angers her mother Queen Elinor ( Thompson) which causes a fight between moth  and daughter resulting in Merida riding off into the forest eventually leading her to the home of a witch that gives her a spell to change her destiny and her mothers mind about her future. The spell turns out to to have turned her mother into a bear and Merida must find a way to change her mother back in time before the spell keeps Elinor a bear forever. What a nice trip so far I never knew Scotland was so beautiful well there is still so much to do an see lets carry on shall we.

Disney and Pixar have yet again have given us another decent children's animated film with some memorable characters. While this movie was no where near as good as Toy Story was it was enjoyable, it had a good story with some humorous characters in it.I found it to have a good lesson on being yourself and not what others want you to be. The voice talents were well chosen especially the part of King Fergus being played by Billy Connolly and Robbie Coltrane voicing the role of Lord Dingwall. I must say that I also did like all the celtic music used in this film as well it really helped to make you feel you were in Scotland .There were some week points such as having the Queen being turned into a bear which didn't really work for me , they could have had something totally different happen as a result of the spell and the fact that Merida's 3 younger brothers did not speak was lost on me I think they should have had voices as well.Wow are trip seems to almost over hope we didn't miss anything lets take a look around some more so that we don't.

Now the time has come to give my rating on the movie Brave so here we go and I rate this movie a 7.3 on the Justin Scale a cute and fun movie but not entirely one of Disney and Pixars best . This movie was still worth a watch though kids will love it and i know many adults will too so I make this movie a Pick-It a pretty decent movie , great for families. Our trip is almost over just one last thing to do before we have to leave.

Well our plane has landed and we are back home such a nice trip to Scotland I so enjoyed it and now it is time to call it a wrap on this review. As always Good Morning , Good Afternoon, Good Evening and as always Good Viewing I will see you all again at the movies.
