Aren't We All Seeking a Friend For The End Of The World

Good day my friends and here we are again for another movie review , in fact it is the first of back to back movie reviews so lets get started on our way shall we.In the first review we are preparing for our last days as we count down the days till the end of the world as we take a look at the romantic/comedy/drama film Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World.This  movie stars Steve Carell ( 40 Year Old Virgin) as Dodge and Keira Knightley ( Pirates Of The Caribbean 1-3) as Penny. Well the the countdown is on time to do all the things that you wanted to do and make peace with yourself because the end is coming.

When it is announced that an asteroid is nearing Earth and the attempt to save the planet have failed leaving the planet only 25 days until the it hits insurance salesman Dodge( Carell) suddenly finds himself alone as his wife leaves him in a panic.With the clock ticking and feeling very depressed Dodge  tries to carry on with what is left of his  life by keeping on going in to work everyday going to an end of the world party hosted by his friends with them even trying to set him up with another friend of theirs.As everyone on the planet are going crazy and doing what they always wanted to Dodge meets Penny( Knightley) his neighbour a free spirit who who as sleeping out on his fire escape after she broke up with her  boyfriend. Having lived in the same building for a while and not even met Penny ends up staying the night on Dodges couch. The next day as Dodge walks her back to her apartment , Penny gives Dodge all his mail that was sent to her by mistake to which he discovers a letter from his high school sweetheart basically telling him that he was always her one true love. A riot breaks out the next day and Dodge rescues Penny from it and asks her to drive him to see his high school sweetheart in return he knows someone who will be able to fly her home to England to be with her family.Along the way they meet many different and quite unique people , go through several vehicles as they travel to their destination before  the world comes to an end.The countdown clock is ticking away we don't have much longer so lets keep going so we can do what we needed to do before it all ends.

Personally I thought this was a different look at what we usually see when the world is about to end  in a movie. It was a little slow at times but it did connect with you on some levels and had a little bit of heart to it. Steve Carell it seems is type cast into usually playing these sad and lonely types with his serious type humour. Keira Knightley was sweet and at the same time somewhat funny in this movie she was quite able to pull off her free spirited character who has hyper insomnia , smokes pot and loves old records.The movie seemed to be more of a romantic drama but it did have some light humour injected in it and Carell and Knightley seemed to act well together. If there was any problems I had with this movie it was that was a little slow at times and some of the humour was a tad dry but overall it was decent movie.The clock has almost rundown we don't have much longer it is all about to end lets carry on .

Now comes the part you have all been waiting to get to since you started reading so lets get right to it shall we and that is my rating on this movie. My rating for Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World on the Justin scale is a 6.7 it was an interesting film and worth checking out and giving a watch so I would have say this movie would be a Pick-It. It may seem a little slow at times but it has heart and is somewhat interesting very different than what you usually see in the theatre this time of year.Our time is almost up we better hurry before it all ends ,we have but mere seconds left.
