General Aladeen (Baron Cohen) the ruler of an oil rich North African country named Wadiya is the last great dictator in the world as he beheads anyone who opposes him and has UN sanctions put on his country for supposedly building weapons of mass destruction . He is despised by all in his country including Tamir ( Kingsley) who is the rightful ruler of Wadiya who plots to have him assassinated and have the UN sanction lifted so he can sell off the Wadiya's oil rights and make it a democracy. With the United Nations wanting Aladeen to come to NYC to talk to them about if he is building nuclear weapons. This gives Tamir the perfect opportunity to have Aladeen killed and replace him with a body double named Efawadh ( Baron Cohen ) but Aladeen survives only to have his trade mark beard cut off so no one will recognize him. Trying to get into the UN Aladeen meets Zoey a political activist and natural foods grocery store owner who believes him to be a political refugee from Wadiya and not the evil dictator that she protested against. Stuck in a place he does not know and Aladeen must find a way to prove he is alive and get back into power all the while dealing with the capitalist system that he tries to understand.
Well lets get right down to it and not beat around the bush on this movie so here you go this movie while it had quite a few funny scenes was interesting but it seems his characters that he portrays are always coming from other countries to America and trying to understand it. That being said the script while a little over the top with some of it's humour this movie was quite good and I actually enjoyed it and even the story line which was all pretty well done for a comedy. The acting in this movie was pretty decent and the actors seemed to work well with each other. I must admit I was quite surprised by this movie from the previews it didn't look that great in fact the movie looked kind of ridiculous but in the end it surprised me as I really don't have nothing bad to say about it.
With all this being said now comes for the part that I know you all long for and that is my rating well I would have to give this movie a 7.0 on the Justin Scale as the humour was there and many funny parts in it and was enjoyable but let me stress this that this is not a movie for little children and is geared mainly toward adults .With the rating in I will now tell you that this movie is a " Pick-It " and a surprise one at that as it did win me over seeing I thought this was going to be a bad , unfunny movie and you should see it you just might like it.
Now the time has come to call it a wrap on this movie review so as always Good Morning , Good Afternoon, Good Evening and as always Good Viewing I will see you all again at the movies.
Thanks so much , I really appreciate it
