The Lorax Brings Truth And Heart

Hello my friends sorry it is a day late but than usual but here is this weeks movie review which is on the new animated feature "The Lorax" which is based on the story by beloved children's author Dr. Seuss and features the voice talents of Zack Effron ( Charlie St. Cloud , 17 Again )  ,  Danny Devito ( Hercules , Ruthless People) , Taylor Swift ( Valentines Day) , Ed Helms ( The Hangover 1 & 2 ) and Betty White ( The Proposal , Hot In Cleveland) . In the town of Thneedville where everything is no real trees , grass or flowers , a young boy named Ted ( Effron) finds out that the girl of his dreams Audrey( Swift ) wants nothing more than to see a real tree . So  he sets out to find one but in order to do so his grandmother ( White) tells him he must seek out the Once-ler ( Helms) who lives outside the city walls and can help him by telling him what happened to all the trees and where he can find one. Once there the Once-ler tells him the tale of The Lorax ( DeVito) the guardian of the trees and what happened to make all the trees disappear  and give Ted hope to help bring them all back . It is something about animated movies that always send a message and teach not just children a lesson but all us adults as well . This movie was both fun , entertaining and an eye opener to us all about how fast our world is progressing and the things we lose when it does. I personally enjoyed it because of fact that it is makes you feel like a kid all over again and I loved the voice talents assembled for the main cast especially Danny DeVito who voices the character of the Lorax with his usual grumpy but heart felt persona and Betty White is just as funny in animation as she is in real life. This movie has everything an animated family movie could ask for funny human and animal characters , catchy songs that are sung in the movie and a lesson to be learned from the story. So if you ask me I would give this movie a 8 on the Justin Scale of movies as I just enjoyed this movie from beginning to end and would definitely want to see it again  which means I would also say "Pick-It" because when it comes to a good family movie this one has all the required elements even for the kid in us all. Well it is time to call it a wrap on this weeks review for "Pick-It Or Flick-It" and as always Good Morning , Good afternoon , Good Evening and as always Good Viewing I will see you all again at the movies.

  1. While the movie is funnier than the book, the drawback of this modernized version is that it loses the timeless quality of the story on the page. Still, I had a good time and it will definitely resonate well with plenty of adults and just about every kid imaginable. Great review Justin. It’s a lot better than Despicable Me though, or at least that’s what I thought.
