It seems when ever a movie does good at the box office that you can bet that a sequel will soon follow which can try into a franchise that usually gets couple of more sequels and then rebooted and turned into a prequel. Yes I will be the first to admit that I too enjoy these franchises , well most of them and lets face it who doesn't like too see what happens to in the lives of our favourite movie characters seeing that they have brought us so many memories . Now over the years there have been some bad sequels and it is like asking why did they bother to make the movie and even those straight to video sequels which totally ruined a movie franchise like all the American Pie straight to video movies and now finally they releasing an actual movie with the original cast that will be in the theatres. Now this weekend there are 3 movies that are sequels Sherlock Holmes A Game Of Shadows , Alvin And The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked and Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol , which I have not seen yet but intend to because I want to judge for myself how good they are , write a review and not over criticize the movie by seeing a preview and saying" another one I don't want to bother to see that"which is just the wrong attitude. Over the years there have been some great movie franchises such as Die Hard , the Batman movies , the James Bond movies and lets face it when they are gone we will miss them but knowing Hollywood they will eventually remake them such as the trend has become . But in most sequels it is hard to out do the original but I do give them credit for trying but maybe take a little more time making some of them to draw a bigger crowd at the box office. In my opinion I say to Pick the movie franchise but only ever so slightly as much we enjoy them , some original ideas for movies would be nice too. The movie franchise rates a 7 on the Justin scale because there have been some sequels that haven't worked that have turned into a franchise and could never match up to the original.
